Technical Service light reset tool now available

Was bored tonight and wondered if one was available and it seems it is!

Confused? It says Fiat Stilo/Doblo service light reset. Some other stuff has been able to do them for a while but not the light on the 500's. RobW has hunted high and low for such a thing and could find ones that did other Fiats but not the 500. I wonder if they'll confirm that this will do it. And I wonder what it costs. That doesn't look like a cheap bit of kit.

But I'd be happy to be proved wrong on all this. If indeed it does do service light reset I'd be keen to know more.

Search for 500 in the PDF and you'll see it's there :)

Reading through the list of functions it says "New Fiat 500 Service Light Reset" It is in very small print, second line from the bottom, right hand side.

Ahh, my bad. I got as far as the Stilo/Doblo bit then ran into other cars and thought, hmm, no luck. Oops. :)

I wonder what one of these babies costs?

PMSL at the lot of you. Snap-on, Mac, etc have had their own Diagnostic machines that'll do this for ages, but all cost around £2k and have an annual subscription fee.

If you really want to stop seeing the light, pun intended, wait until vehicle is out of warranty, then-

1. Get friendly with Fiat Technician,
2. Supply them with beer tokens,
3. They reset the service counter several times, until it will come-on no more,
4. You drive away.

Unfortunately, those with DPF's and their oil change lights aren't as lucky- but most Dealers will reset the lamp if given proof of the oil change.

nah id rather put up with the light than get fiat to remove it whenever it appears....will take a while anyway cause i only do around 4000-5000 miles a year.

plus it means you avoid the crap fiat 'technicians' from screwing up your precious car with their so-called servicing - from past experience, i wouldnt let them service my car for free.

Wasn't really for me :) But I knew that some others would be interested even if it wasn't economical for the average person.

maybe not 100%, but over the past 8yrs of fiat ownership spanning a seicento, a panda multijet and now my A500, and at 4 different dealerships its always been the same story. thats long enough and varied enough for me to form my opinion!

and when you're paying double for it compared to a good independent there's not really any reason to visit them (except for the service light, i suppose!!)

i might have an abarth, but i doubt their dealerships are any better with servicing - just even more expensive.

thank god i love the cars hey!

i dont think Fiat Technician my friend no more he dont reply to my pm's

If it's who I think it is, he's been too busy with his new venture and work to check out the forum recently Dave. I'll give him a nudge for you. :)
