About 10 days ago i bought a 500 1.2 lounge with dualogic. I had to wait about 7 months for the car to be delivered.
The car 24 hours later from the moment it was delivered, it appeared dualogic failure. Then the engine could not start up. Car was totally dead.
It was returned to the dealer where they changed the dualogic ecu.

10 days later the car appeared the same dualogic failure. Engine could not start up etc etc.
The service this time updated the dualogic ecu according to instructions from Italy HQs.
The car was delivered to me for a third time. And guess what? Few hours after the delivery dualogic failure appeared and the engine of course could not startup.
Now i have to wait until Monday in order to return the car to the service. I am totally desparate, pissed of and i will demand for a new car.

Do u guys know how to contact the HQs of Fiat in italy? I would like to inform them about the situation.

Any help would be appreciated.

WOW I've heard the dualogic can be a little more problematic than a regular manual but that unacceptable.
Can't help with contacting Fiat Italy. We have Fiat UK when things go wrong over here.

That's assuming that you can get through. lol.

Mr Google has tried resending my message 12 times over the last week. Perhaps they got fed up with me and blocked me.
Maybe their servers are dualogic inspired.

Maybe try this:

Mr. Sergio Marchionne – Chief Executive Officer,
Fiat S.p.A, 250, Via Nizza

What a total downer mate. I feel bad for you.

I was warned about the dualogic. To begin with mine was really jittery at gear change. Its not learned how i drive and i no longer have to lift off between gear changes.
Also i find that the 'manual' mode is great when i'm in a mega rush, the computer doesnt change gear at the best revs, so i select the change when i need it.
Oh the Eco button, which works, but is pointless. I get a few extra mpg, but i drive worse than my 85 y.o granny who has a licence from the War for driving milk vans.

Hope you get yours sorted so you can start to have fun with it like i have.

I have a phone No is case you need to contact anyone at Technical assistance let me know if you still need it

news update:
i picked up my car on 4th of December. The car this time stayed on the service for about 10 days.
They replaced (again) the dualogic ecu. This time though the ecu was sent directly from Fiat and had different hardware.
And yes, until this moment problem seems to have been solved! Fiat gave me ,free of charge, 3 more years of warranty due to the problems i had.

I love the car, i am more than happy with the dualogic (the gear changes are very good) and i would still choose a 500 dualogic!

I don't get Dualogic in cars like the 500, not only does it take away what is, for me, a very important part of driving, but surely it doesn't really make any sense performance wise either?

I can understand Lambos having E Gear and everything since the shift time from a standard manual could slow performance a little, but on a 500 it seems a pointless luxury...

I had 'selespeed' on an Alfa 156 & it was the biggest expense I've ever had with any car.... every time there's a problem the answer is 'replace the actuator', or 'replace the ecu'. No rebuild kits available so £1200 a pop & no guarantee that the problem would be fixed...

To add insult to injury, the car was neither good at being a manual or automatic.

I eventually traded it in against my 500, once I sorted it out at over £2000, because I had no trust in the system anymore...

Good luck with yours.... hope they've managed to improve things since I had mine!

The is no joy of driving on rush hours with a manual. The auto mode is a bless for most people in the city. And if i want to have manual control i simply disable the auto mode.

The Dualogic makes lots of sense. In 'manual' mode its great fun, you can drive like a 'boy racer' and it will rev to the limiter. If you need to drop down a gear it will happily do so, unless it knows that you are about to blow it up, in which case it stops you. All very clever and fun.
Also on my 'low cash' weeks, i can press the Eco button and it gives a super smooth drive in high gears which gives me a MPG of over 50.

Oh and in south welsh M4 traffic its such an easy option, stick it in auto and rest your left foot.

It is an expensive luxury, but i was'nt guna buy my new car without Automatic. All the other car makers either had Autos on crap models with crap spec. Or didnt offer them on such a small car. So Fiat won! They got my cash!

Do you mind mailing me the number (verawatPretendtheselettersare@ :) magnum.co.th)? My 1.2 duologic gear change is never smooth to begin with. I thought it was normal and will learn my driving style. Now after 7,000 km, the transmission engine light show. I am in Bangkok with no Fiat dealer so.... Can I go in to Alfa Romeo dealer for service?

I think they sound very good. I have not driven one yet though. A lot of the issues that the Citroen sensodrive had were mainly software related and were fixed from updates fro Citroen France.

Oh no! The gearbox light had come on saying dualogic failure and went off after a few seconds. Tjis happened a fee times with the problem disapearing. Now when i came home last night it said gear unavailable and stayed in neutral!! It was not selecting gears no matter what i did! Maybe stress on car i did 200 km in town driving in one day. I will go to car today see what happens if same problem straight to dealer on monday. I have warranty but this would look like major fix and in greece i am not sure they would give me a courtesy car so i am hoping for the best!

I had opened the window to hear what noise was coming out the car and the hydraulics were going mad as if the car was screaming i am tired and the gearbox sounded like it was choking or something. I started the engine after turning it off and i had a gear but then i did some testing on the box like changing many gears and the same problem again! Here's hoping for the best. I have left the car overnight i think its in neutral as basically i gave up on the car coming home at 6 am so i hope for the best!

it might be a low battery problem due to the cold weather these days.
Thank God my dualogic hadnt caused any problems for a long time now.

Ok i noticed gearbox oil in the garage. It is looking like a gearbox oil leak so i wont start the car again for fear of damaging it. Waiting for fiat recovery
