They're talking about prices around £13.5k, although it's not clear if the 'opening edition' will be higher.

Can't believe Fiat UK supplied a car with no aerial....!

Its a typical Fiat thing to do really. Make an excellent car and forget to screw the aerial on. Its similar to 500 owners experiences; totally faultless car but someone forgets to tighten the battery terminals so the battery goes flat & the owner has to call the AA out. Both 2 minute jobs that leave a bad taste in the mouth if not done.

Unfortunately alot of people will judge this as poor, rather than looking at the whole picture, and its things like this that pull Fiats reputation down. Which is a big shame.

Like all of the stuff on Top Gear there's a good possibility they made it up :)

Okay, some wet laps here, but still, even take the 4 seconds they say the wet adds (nonsense btw, its more like 2.5-3 seconds) off those times

Ferrari 575M 1.35.2
Vauxhall Vectra VXR 1.35.3
Fiat 500 Abarth 1.35.5
Alfa 147 GTA 1.35.6
Lotus Elise 1.35.6
Aston Martin Vanquish 1.36.2
Renault Clio V6 1.36.2
Honda Civic Type R 1.36.5
Alfa Romeo Brera 1.36.9
Saab 95 Aero 1.37.9
Maserati 3200 GT 1.38.0
Alfa Romeo 8C 1.38.2
Bowler Wildcat 1.39.4
Bentley Arnarge 1.40.8
Overfinch Range Rover 1.44.0
Aston Martin DB5 1.46.0

even taking 4 seconds off the few on that list that are wet, the 500 ss is within touching distance of some VERY impressive machinery, it was a stunning time it set!!!!!!!!!!! :D(y)

The other thing to bear in mind is that none of those looked half as cute as the 500 with its hazards flashing, it was fantastic !!:D

Minifunclub that is gorgeous :)

Makes me laugh though people like it as my plans are loweing, red stripe, red and black rims basically a black and red all spec and i get slated for it :( when you can see its clearly going to be Hott :p

Thanks for the reminder ... be nice to see one in action. This is the ONLY one we saw in Italy. We went to every Fiat dealer we could and found this in the back of a garage in Maranello .... we spoke no Italian and the nice young man spoke no English - but he let us have a good look at the car and gave me an Abarth pin badge. How sweet(y) Really want one now. It was lush - all the white interior in a standard 500 is replaced with black - it is VERY COOL:slayer:AND ITALIAN!

Must have been in the wrong part of Italy. We popped into one garage to try to buy a tail lamp for the Bravo and saw these...

What I took from the test drive on TG last night was he was driving the 160bhp SS version. Would it not have been better to test drive one without the SS kit???? this is the car that will be £13.5K as SS kit adds about £2.5K to the base price does it not?

and I can't imagine that all the Abarth 500's with have the SS kit dropped into them. I would be happy to pay £13.5K for one but £15K+ is a different matter.

however that's just my thoughts.

about 12.5k GBP - but I have paid in EUR and I got it somewhat cheaper through my employers discount scheme (similar to diplomatic discount) in Holland.

Car should arrive 1st or 2nd week in DEC and then I have to wait between 2-4 weeks for the Dutch paperwork to be sorted (they make the DVLA look efficient!!)

i want one:(
so cool
glad it got a good review.shame theres not a version with the engine in the back and rip the two seats out lol like the original

to be honest everybody is going on that its going to be expensive with the esse esse kit .itl b around 15k i dont think thats bad at all. if you look at competitors like clio 182 thats around 15k i think and its no way as stylish as the 500. all hot hatch backs seem to be around 15k mark.i think the 500 abarth is very well priced.and the grande:O.the type r would be about 3k more. so i think both the gp abarth and 500s even with the esse kit make them a very good bargain. im glad they didnt use the whole abarth image an excuse to sell them at 20 grand haha. i say fair play fiat to the price strategy. for the money you get alot i think.not over priced at all:)

now..wheres my hammer and piggy bank....
