Went out in Bibi today(in the rain) with partner, driving along with seatbelts 'on', and the warning light came on along with the buzzer noise!! took seat belt out and back in and it went off . Then it did it again this time when I was turning the steering wheel to the right, this happened 2 or 3 times each time when the wheel was being turned but the last time it wouldnt go off, had to stop and find how to turn the noise off as it was driving us nuts:mad:. Anyone else had this or can explain what the prob might be? Really dont want to go back to the dealer yet again!!

why is it people ask on here first and try fix things without the dealer it's under warranty for Christ sake

as t says go get software update

or if you ask your dealer

for a small fee or free of charge if it's fairly new you can have them deactivate the seat belt alarms for you howether to do this a code card is required from fiat so will take a day to arrive and then the operation can be carried out with fiat examiner

Thanks for the replies! Its not that I dont want to go to the dealer, its just that I have been there rather a lot with different probs and didnt want to go again with something that might be something I was doing wrong!
Will ring them monday

Its like saying i'm really hungry but dont want to get ripped off so can anyone tell me how much Asda is gonna charge me for a tin?

End of the day you got to eat & your going to nick the beans anyway so does cost matter?

Its free....take the wife/partner shopping (for beans?) while car is getting done (& get them to check tyre pressures/levels etc) make a day out of it & smile as you have a 500:) How many other people can say that;)

I would like to make a day out of it, but the kind of day out I would have while I wait for them to fix my car would be: screaming child, hours to spend in the middle of nowhere with the screaming child, lack of facilities for changing, feeding, play, nothing to do for hours in the showroom and... did I mention a screaming child? ;) It's only fun if you are seriously contemplating self-harm instead :D

That would be great if the dealer wasnt in the middle of an industrial estate miles from anywhere and I work all week and every other weekend! Sometimes a trip to the dealer isnt an easy option!
Sorry that I asked the question now (n)

Why do car's seem to need software update more often than my computer?

I'm beginning to get worried that these will need to continue after the warranty has run out, resulting in cost, and I correct here?

i think you'll find your computers updating all by it's self in the background allot more often than your car

considering the amount of 500's sold and the potential for software glitches and the regularity that fiat send new flash disks to dealers and on top of that the internet service to dealers were the very latest updates can be downloaded to examiner and put onto your car then no i'm quite sure within the warranty period all problems should be accounted for

well i can see were your coming from just curious at to weather it was something you were doing or weather it could be switched off or whatever

but i'm sorry to say it's a dealer fix but there's no point crying over spilt milk i'm sure you knew in the back of your mind you would need to take it in it was inevitable

out of interest what other problems have you had so far that required the dealer to look at it and how were they fixed/rectified

Sell the car & use public transport then if you cant get to a dealer or its not a easy option! Alternatively you could get it collected/delivered from home or work.

How annoying, hope you get it sorted soon.

I don't live near my dealer, like some of the others have mentioned, it's a trek out which isn't that pleasant with a small child. I have better things to do with my weekends. What's the point in an open forum if you can't come on and discuss problems? someone might have experienced this exact problem and could help out.

I think some of you have been rather rude to be honest.(n)

And we have helped out
,we have told the OP whats wrong with the car!........unfortunally we cant take the car to the garage for you or anyone else.

Now as much as I would like to sit around on the PC all day, or go fishing, or clean the car I must go & do the weekly shopping...........with 5 kids!

Thanks snowball, thats why I posted ,to see if anyone else had experienced the same thing! Obviously I'm being over sensitive today.........
To answer the other question of trips I have already made....
1. They drilled my plates on when i had it written down that I wanted them stuck on, trip back to have them taken off , holes filled and plates stuck on.
2. Paint chip on delivery had to wait 4 weeks for touch up stick to arrive, trip back to have it done.
3. Flashing miles and fuel gauge going mad, trip back to leave car there, hour and a half wait while the tried to find me another courtesy car as they had managed to book my prebooked one out.Ended up going home in one of the salesmans cars!
4. Trip back to pick car up after they had taken off the steering column to get to the electrics and sort it out.

Might not seem much to others but when spare time is short and the dealer is a good drive away it all adds up to be a slight pain, but no doubt I'll be told I'm moaning again and at least I have a '500' so should be grateful:p:p
