I was told that the 1.2 will not be replaced when the 2-cylinder engines become available.

Given my time again, I would get the MJD as opposed to the 1.4 when I read the rave reviews on here and having been in a chipped version the potential performance gains !

I wouldn't. Diesel and such a small car just don't cut for me. + the sound is so much better with a petrol car, and longer acceleration in every gear...
5500...6000...6500. Even if chipped diesel is a bit faster and accelerates harder (tiny bit better).....there could never e better joy than to put the pedal to the metal in the middle of the corner at 4500 rpm and wait a few seconds and engage next gear at 6000+ rpm. I don't know.....I just think that small cars are better of with petrol engines.

Pusko, it's a fair point. I have to stress that although I commented on the subject of both, I really do love my 1.4.
