Does the dynamo vary in output on voltage depending on the RPMs ??
I get 10v at idle and 14v at 3000 rpm. The tension on the belt is to spec.

That's something quite topical for me; being a confirmed non-electrician who has insisted on playing with sparks since childhood (literally; I once put a 4" nail into a plug-socket in the days before we had circuit-breakers:eek:), I was intrigued that my recently fitted combined voltmeter and USB-socket shows quite a varied reading over time.

I have an alternator which will behave a bit differently than a dynamo, but in general I think what you're seeing is normal.....see embedded vid.....
