Well, I took the old 69 Lusso down to the parts shop here in Italy and found an old fella who was a mechanic. I have a very limited understanding of Italian at this early point in my stay here! He took the 500L to his shop and changed out the clutch and rebuilt the brakes with new parts that I paid for at the parts store. The clutch was much smoother engaging than it had been. But coming up the hill to my house a week later it locked up in 2nd gear. I was finally able to get it functional again and got home, but while parked it was leaking transmission/clutch box fluid! It finally stopped leaking after about a day. I have spare fluid but have no idea where to check the fluid level or add additional fluid to get it back down the hill to the mechanic who worked on it! Can anyone point me in the right direction as to checking the current level of fluid and adding more if required? Thanks Eric:bang:
