Ok... My Jolly is finally in residence.. not in the garage but outside.. makes little difference as it will be dipped and treated before painting.....

Ok where do I start....
Clearly there are a lot of 1959 Jolly specific parts.. some are missing and by hook or by crook I will have them fabricated....
however in the mean time I don’t have an original 479 engine and box so these will be sourced at some point in the future (any assistance greatly received)….. so the plan is…
not to intentionally upset purists.... as everything will be returned to normal when I have everything to do so…. but I want to make the car driveable and safe

All front suspension etc to be removed for reconditioning etc at a later stage…
Replace with Steering track conversion (yes I know there will have to be a bit of metal mods to fit the brackets.. but no major surgery that can't be reversed easily)
Disk brake kit and 126 kingpins…
Complete cross member with coil over suspension
Rear probably 126 drums and slightly lower springs
I have a set of CMR wheels that will be fitted

Engine/box wise I have a 650 126 twin port engine (new) and a 5 speed gearbox... I have seen some info on fitting these.. but will go 123 ignition etc to cut down the electrics.... not sure on carb changes yet or wether to strip and uprate (I will probably strip just to check as the engine has been standing a while)..

Bodywise it will be restored as standard but there will be a couple of seat belt mounting points discreetly added in the rear to accommodate a baby seat…

Ok… that’s the plan achieving it is somewhat harder…
I have most if not all of the heavy metal parts, the body just has a few dinks and such and will not require any major panel replacements few things have been remade side grab bars and front and rear tubular bumpers (I may have some extras made up once we get the fittings correct so people may want to fit them to std cars as they seem far more substantial than std Fiat bumpers and nudge bars.. will look at stainless options…

I think I am missing the following.

Rear alloy number plate light housing…
Switches/warning lights (not sure what should be there) from the dash
Alloy headlamp rims (ahh yes are these different for a US export car with bug eye lights?)
I need another rear lower panel as the one I have is dented and would take too much work to reshape back to fit…
Rear engine handle + mechanism
Speedo I can strip for spares to repair mine as the needle has broken
Warning lamp holders

As for the rest… well I guess I could literally buy everything from a Classic Fiat Dealers catalogue.. clips, bits of rubber etc… It would be nice to have everything in one hit so when the body is done it will just be like a huge Airfix kit… but I anticipate everything grinding to a halt for bracket 128b that is on a 10 day backorder somewhere

I will post some pics and start a resto thread when I get some time…. just collecting is all I can do at the moment as I have sooo much going on…

The plan was to get the car ready for next summer but I think that is highly unlikely…
Anyone Birmingham based who has an Early 500 flat tank 500 that I can come looksey at to take pics of where electrical bits go it would be appreciated.

cheers
P.
