My Uno refused to start. I cleverly tracked this down to ignition.
As the spark plugs were relatively new (12k km), I ruled them out.
After I checked all other possible causes, disassembled distributor etc., I found that... of the 4 BERU spark plugs, 3 were behaving erratically, while the 4th one had the ceramic insulator BROKEN :bang:
General conclusion: Always start with the simplest.
Conclusion for me: Never buy anything French again, especially if Yank accountants are involved in manufacturing costs reduction (see Beru company history)

Hi!
Well, judging from my previous experience with the local brand of spark plugs (Brisk), I thought they were at about half of their life cycle. I always changed the Brisks after 25k km, and the decision was based only on the fact that it is a recommended interval - they never actually needed a renewal. Funny thing is that the BERU plugs were about 1/2 more than equivalent Brisks. The parts shop next to where I live has a promotion on Bosch plugs, maybe I will try these.

As far as Tipo is concerned, there is not too much to report. I changed wishbones, droplinks, filters, oils, spark plugs (Brisk ;)), front bulbs and a rotten-looking pipe to the front brake as a part of preventive maintenance. Alternator belt needed tensioning.
I am waiting for the spring to give the car a proper clean-up and to attack the rusty spots. I also plan a timing belt change, possibly front shock absorbers, surely the rear (gearbox) rubber mount.
It is a great (and mightily underestimated) car. I really appreciate its no-nonsense, straightforward design. Indeed, it looks bigger from the inside than from the outside.
