I'm trying to get the passenger side handbrake cable off my Uno 45, but at the connection with the drum, there is a weird pin holding it in place, and I can't get it off(!). Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance :)

First give it a whack, then in this order:
1. Penetrating oil and a pair of pliers
2. Sharp chisel and hammer
3. Grinder
I can not remember anything tricky or weird about the cable removal

Just for anyone who is trying to do this... Be very careful that you don't snap the lever, because despite its importance, it seems very weak. I figure this is the same on all Unos - as its the same on mine and a friend's Uno 55. The handbrake cable is held in by a bolt, which through the bottom end has a split pin - except the pin has some sort of washer on it. Basiclly, the washer is hinged on the pin, and the only way to get it off is to scrape all the mud and crap away, and clip the pin with a pair of sidecutters or similar. I've never really seen these before, but they seem like a bad idea, because if you want to take it off, you need to get another - and I can't find them anywhere - so I put in a 10mm bolt with a washer either side, and it seems to work properly.

Hm... I guess my handbrake cable did not get to the extreme point. What I have there is a simple pin with two washers (upper/lower side of the lever), secured with a simple "hairpin".
It was E-Z to remove, no harm to the lever
What was much more challenging was to find the right lubricant for the levers inside the drum - I ended up with a copper paste the brand of which I will not mention. However, as my Uno became "a project car" and is not driven at all recently, I found that the inner levers got stuck over last winter no matter the copper thing. I admit it may be my fault as I left the handbrake on for almost a year... :bang:
