Hi all,

I've just aquired this car and need to get the emissions down for MOT. As this is the first car I've owned I have no idea how to do this, so any info would be much appreciated.

Also, dose anybody know where I can get some doors as the bottoms are starting to go?

First stop for the doors is a scrapyard. They should be easy enough to pick up and won't cost to much. If you're lucky you might even get some the same colour.

No idea about the emissions. Some of the more technically minded folk should know.

For the emissions:

clean oil and filter (honest!)
clean air filter
good plugs and leads
a good hard thrash down a motorway just prior to the test (can blow the carp out of the Cat, and clean up the lambda sensor, and help the spray pattern from the injector....)

A cooperative testing station may also give it a drop of "Forte" injector cleaner to help too.


If you're unlucky the Cat maybe stuffed - depends on mileage and abuse: you can kill them quite quickly in a variety of ways [xx(]
But, they can still be happy aged 10 years plus with over 100K miles.

I'll get oil, filter and plugs and somethig to clean the injectors the keep my fingers crossed.

as for doors, can you beleve it! there are no (yes thats right) Uno's in my local scrap yards. and there's a lot of them where I live.
