thought this might be of interest to someone...
recently unearthed a 1992 uno 1.0 ie 5 door..41k from new..previous elderly owner was ex mercedes mechanic!
car has no rust at all on bodywork and has had no paintwork done.
its a bit pink as red has faded..but it will t-cut back.
as its 20 years old it qualifies for cheap classic car insurance so its a cheap way into an italian classic.
I bought it as cheap transport but its really too good to abuse and would be a great hobby car to use and preserve.
spare wheel never been fitted..six months tax and mot...
the advert is in the classifieds section.

if no takers I'll continue to use daily and improve bit by bit.
I actually work in a classic car garage and am aware that 70/80's cars are on the up in terms of value s it could go be a good investment as well as cheap transport!

hope this post is of interest..made me chuckle to think of a 20 year old fiat not being rotten as a pear!
i'd love a 124 coupe (dad had one) or a mk1 strada (ditto) but I guess thats unlikely knowing how they rotted in period!

thank you alex,
my post was not a look at this, buy the car post but to alert other enthusiasts to my recent discovery (i assume this is one of the lowest mileage uno 1.0 ie still in use?) and thought it would be of interest to those who like to keep track of cars that were previously unknown (like the recent discoverys pages of classic car mags)
unless you were looking for a car for sale its unlikely you would see the advert you mentioned in your reply, so I thought a post informing of this interesting discovery would be of interest.

you say someone REPORTED this? your kidding right!?

You need to get some pictures up if you want to charge the highest price I have seen for a non-turbo Mk2 Uno in a long while. FIATs like these are used oddly, therefore there are a few out there with less mileage than yours and many under 60k. A couple of months ago there were two under 20k miles on eBay and a couple of years ago I saw one with 8k on in an enthusiasts garage.

I had a nice rust-free 60S (1.1ltr), it was a 1990 5-door.
That was pretty low-mileage, and in pretty good condition really.

Stuck it on eBay, but the winning bidder was actually a scrappy who won it for £220, such a pity to see it going for scrap. :(

Yeah I know, was quite suprised with that myself, only got £100 for a Pug 106 a couple of months back...

I'm only breaking my 60D myself as I'm holding onto the engine, and as that makes up a fair bit of weight it means I'd only get peanuts on the rest!
