Hi All,

just got a ulysee 2.0 Auto last week and i am pleased with it, but i have got one niggle.I have purchased a pay as you go sim card to use in the car, but sometimes it says sim missing or not inserted correctly. The thing is i have tried two different types of sim.O2 & Virgin.Virgin was better though.

Has anyone else had this problem ?

Best Regards,

Steve.

I take it you mean the contacts in the car itself and not the sim card ? i will see if i can get anything small enough in and report back later.

Thanks for your response.

Steve

I have tried cleaning the contacts, but it sometimes comes on and then goes off. This is being a real pain for me.Any other suggestions i might try ?

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,

Steve.

The type of card should not be an issue, sounds like a bad connection in there somewhere. I assume you pushed the card well in and replaced the cover?

May need a trip to the dealer, are you under guarantee?

Hi,

i have been in touch with my local Fiat dealer who say they will oredr a new sim card holder to see if that is the trouble.I presume they are all of the same sort, only the dealet was saying about a holder of credit card size, yet mine is only just big enough to insert the sim carrd.Maybe some are of different size, im not sure.I will update when i get the new sim card holder on Mmonday all being well.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Steve.

On the Nav+ unit, the sim holder is the size of the sim [well, slightly bigger obviously] - he is getting confused with the sim holders on the Stilo Nav+, which are credit card sized.

Hi i have been to my local dealer who were not that helpfull.I have tried a new sim holder but it still goes off now and again. My wife thought maybe it is when there is no signal, but i dont thik that is the problem as it says sim not inserted or bad conection. When you said push it all the way in, i did that, but what did you mean when you said replace the cover ? To remove the sim card holder i have to push a pen in the hole then it pops out.I have even tried putting a thin piece of paper behind the sim holder. This is really annoying as i liked the idea of a built in phone, the only thing is it goes on and off anytime whilst driving.By the way im not covered under warranty.

Any ideas ??

many thanks,

Steve.

Hi,

update on sim card.I have attached a small piece of plastic so i can pull the sim card holder out whenever it goes off, as by taking it out and replacing it, it works. Also i have put a small piece of glue on the two edges to enable the sim card holder from going in too far as it would lock and then not come out without the assistance of a small object such as a pin.Anyway since doing this yesterday it has not gone off, but im sure that it will again.

Regarsd,

Steve.
