My central locking packed up yesterday. Also the buttons for operating the electric sliding doors have stopped working (roof panel, on door pillars and on the key fob). The key is still sending as the indicators flash, but nothing else happens. The doors still open electrically when the handle is pulled though. I checked a couple of fuses which were OK - but none of the fuse descriptions in the manual seem to correspond with this problem. The lefthand dipped beam headlamp has also failed, not sure if this is just coinicdence though. Time to visit the dealer I think.

Did you disconnect the battery before it happened. This has happened to me a couple of times when I have disconnected the battery, normally by disconnecting it a couple of times again and then starting the engine it comes back to life.

I hadn't disconnected the battery - no. But just beforehand when parking I caught a wheelie bin with one of the mirrors, and it got pushed in. It folded out again OK from the door switch, so I didn't think it was the cause. A bit of a coincidence though.

Disconnect battery for 10 minutes.
I've had to disconnect it for rather longer! When I went to the car this morning the battery was completely flat - so I took it out and have been charging it in the house all day. Whatever the fault was must have been running it down - I thought there was protection built-in to prevent that?
I'll refit it in the morning and hope it behaves - no chance of borrowing the other car as I could today. These cars certainly keep us entertained if nothing else! I quite like the quick-release battery connectors - reckon they must expect you to use them quite often...

Re-fitted the battery, everything back to normal and central locking/key fob is working fine. I'll remember that for next time. A good one to add to the "Tips and Tricks" list.

Unfortunally software errors are rather common on the ulysee & the need for reset is often required.Oh well the Ulysee is at the end of its run now...wonder whats coming next:rolleyes:
Not sure I want to know! I just got my car back from the dealer today. My long-running problem of low audio level has been fixed, but I now find that none of the RT3 controls next to the gear lever are working - only the ones on the front panel of the unit. It seems to go from one problem to the next. They have also ordered a new steering rack (which they say is leaking) and new door contact blocks - the electric sliding doors sometimes immediately reopen of their own accord when they have just closed. My warranty runs out next month so I hope things settle down for a while.

I know I am going to regret saying this but I have had my Ulysse for 16 months and have never reset the software or even reset the RT3. My rear doors have done the close then open trick but a spray with silicon on the seals sorted that out. I have sprayed the window runners as they used to go up then back down again.

I suspect they forgot to connect the remotes back up, especially if they swapped your RT3 unit out.

As far as I know, they just went in with Examiner and "reset the parameters". I certainly have the same RT3 as it has my phone numbers etc. still stored.
Someone on the EV2 forum reckons that if you reset parameters in the RT3 you may need to "register" the control unit again and they probably forgot to do that. I reported it and hopefully they'll sort it out next visit - they charged me £59 for the "audio diagnostic" test so I think they can afford to take another look at it.

I thought they caused the problem with the RT3 in the first place, so to charge you to reset the parameters which they screwed up in the first place is a bit harsh. There is no way you could have altered them yourself, so it must have been the garage.

I'd ask for a refund for the hassle of going back as well.

I would agree - but this was a different dealer in Newcastle 15 miles away, and to be honest I was over the moon that they sorted the audio level out first visit after the months of hassle it has caused. My local dealer was the one who screwed it up and then couldn't fix it so I've given up with them. I did think about sending them an invoice with a copy of the bill to recover the cost of getting it fixed elsewhere, but I don't suppose it would be worthwhile - they never responded to the last letter I wrote and I can imagine it ending up with formal letters about smalls claims court etc. - can't really face all that.

The system needs resetting using examiner, as the nav unit cant see the audio controls on the remote. I had this happen once before, if the set is reprogrammed or replaced then you sometimes have to do this.

I encountered exactly the same symptoms as martinw a few days after having a tow bar fitted.

Problem was, I was on a camping trip and as I couldn't unlock the boot, had to load and unload everything through the side door. In the rain. Great fun.

Consulted the handbook. Worse than useless.

Consulted the forum, found this thread, disconnected the battery, re-connected after 10 minutes and everything back to normal. Result!(y)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!:worship:
