Moning all

Just had a discussion with a mate, he pronounces it -

You-less-ease

I pronounce it

You-lease

I've heard lots of people pronouncing it as per the first one.

I'd be interested to know other opinions / pronunciations.

My sentiments exactly, but almost everyone i've spoken to (Including Fiat dealership i might add) pronounces it with the S on the end.

Not sure about Italian, but in Spain it is pronounced something like "Ooo-Lee-Say".

Heres the link to Wikipedia site info re Eurovans, a little way down the page it says the name was taken from the Roman name for Odysseus which is Ulysses!

Si is correct on the foundation of the word Ulysse as being taken from the word for Odysseus. which would be Ulysses ( You-Li-Seas).

as fiat removed the 's' from the end the Correct pronunctiation would be:

You - Li- Sea

Ulysse. That's it. If you want to anglicise/phoneticise it, it would be "You-leasse" No "s" on the end, any more than the "n" or the "o" in Monsieur is articulated... Actually in French Ulysse means Ulysses, but in Italian it translates as..."Ulysse".
