Hello Fiat fans(or not)!!!!


I have a w reg ulysse 2.0 petrol and love it! My Mrs is a child minder and the school run is a doddle (well apart from breaking her thumb in the sliding door last week! Oops)! Then a week ends out come 2 seats and we get 3 mountain bikes in the boot! Great!

Recently we had a very loud clunking sound when accelerating and cornering at the same time. Suddenly......it stopped.

Then today it started again. It clunks whichever way you turn but only when accelerating. Accelerating in a straight line is no prob and general driving is steady as.

Where do I start???

it sounds like you might have a driveshaft on it's way out try going to an empty car park some where and put the car on full lock in each direction and drive round in circles you should here the knocking noise if so it will be a driveshaft.

Thanks for that. Suprise suprise! It stopped again!! Anyway I will take to my usual garage and have the drive shafts checked/replaced anyway.

Sounds like CV joints.

Yeah CV joints. Easy job to do and not too much to fix. Shop around though as prices change from place to place!
