DIY Short shifter t-jet 1.4 120hp

Hi there, I am new to Forum.

So I want to reduce shifter throw on my linea t-jet. Mainly because now it feels like a bus with ~18cm trow.
I decided to make my own. because cheap options for short shifters are not available. I work as an mechanic with other things so think I got this.

First I eye balled a rough dimensions for the main piece and took some measures from the engine bay.

I purchased bunch of bits and pieces from local hardware store.

I cut the 2mm sheet metal to shape. Didn't have time to drill holes nor install it yet. The commercial products seems to be at least 5mm but I think 2mm sheet metal feels sturdy enough for rock n roll. (I cannot bend with bare hands) If it starts to bend or rust I'll make another one from stainless and stack 'em together. Or weld another piece on it vertically.

Attached are few pics and I try to put up a more detailed step by step guide later. I'll refine the template also because the one I used sucks.

Sorry for big filesizes, not sure if hey are allowed here.

Your thoughts? Have anyone yet made one for the t-jet models? Or any improvements to suggest?

Finally got time to drill holes for the bolts. the part fit quite nicely to the car. Though I still have to file it a bit.

I'd really like to get some response. Is there any sense making this? or should I buy the 130 piece? Any thoughs on the durability side would be appreciated also. Thanks.

Installed the shifter linkage finally. Took 1 hour, including battery and battery holder removal and reinstall. After 200km use the piece of steel is still in place and working correctly. Wich is nice.

I sanded and painted black the counter weight also.

The trow is now ~10 cm. I'd like little shorter. But the Feel is now good and snappy.

After around 1000 km the mod still works and no complaints.

Forgot to mention that I had to drill the long nuts before installing. Threats prevented tightening it properly to the counter weight.

Just a pic of all the parts and counter weight painted. Dust free environment etc.
