Tipo at RADwood

I was invited to take a car onto the Hagerty stand at RADwood yesterday. This is a new event for 1980s/1990s Cars at Goodwood Circuit, and a bit of a trek from me.

I gave them a choice of 3 cars which were taxed and ready to go, and the Storm Blue Tipo was their choice. An entirely appropriate colour actually, as we had quite a few storms during the day!

The Tipo is a new car to me, bought from a Forum member a couple of weeks ago. After some fairly frenzied polishing (which has to be redone at Goodwood!) I set off at silly o’clock to get down there before 9am.

It drove very well, and I managed to persuade the marshalls to let a couple of us onto the Goodwood grid for photos. Looks pretty good, and with a few small things sorted I hope it will stay with my collection of oddball Fiats long term.

I thought you might like to see the photos. I’m also hoping to tag Ian (if I can work out how!) who was very keen to see the Tipo go to a good home & made the purchase very easy. @Iggy64

I thought you’d like to see it’s already out and about, and I did promise to update you.

Re: Tipo at RADwood

Nice job Ian. And well done to all the previous owners for keeping her in good condition. Thanks for keeping the Fiat flag flying.

Lovely car, nice photos. Great colour too, what’s the interior ?

Mk1 DGT with optional 13” alloys from the Brio catalogue ?

It’s a great colour - Storm Blue!

It’s the blue velour - not the best picture, but you get the idea.

Yes it’s a 1.6 DGT SX (but sadly it’s lost the headlight wipers), and they are the original option alloys I’m told (do you have a copy of that Brio?).

Re: Tipo at RADwood

It's nice. My brother had an identical Tipo (colour/trim/spec) back in the day, I'm certain it had 5.5 steel wheels and Fiat trims though. The velour door trims that go right up to the glass with no door caps are really nice.
