fastest way to know them apart is by the front lights, mk2b are bigger, also mk2b came in production at 2003

2b has bigger headlights, a Fiat badge in the middle of the tailgate plus a fake radiator grille and different seat cloth and interior trim...and the electrics are Canbus. If it's a 3 dorr it also has extra reflectors on the tailgate
 
Since I picked up my 1.2 MK2 I've changed the rocker gasket & coil pack gasket.
Drained and refreshed the cooling system (god there was a lot of rust that came out) going to do it again soon was proper manky.
It's going in for a new clutch as we speak, could do it myself and local mechanics need money too.
Front lambda sensor replaced, going to do back one as well.

On list of to do is oil change and filter, timing belt and water pump, brakes disk and pads, sparks and leads

May try this suggestion tried my rocker twice and still leaks looks like leaking from coil pack o ring too. Either that or Specialist Punto centre in Tamworth quoted £30 to do rocker and £10 for o ring.

Got him to replace my rad fan as motor was going. Only for him to find out the set up in car was wrong it was for car with Aircon ( 6 blade fan swap for 11 and a hole in rad so swapped that too). The only air con in mine is the window opening buttons.

I got a pack of o rings cheap on eBay but unused some instant gasket while waiting for them to arrive and it's not failed so saving the o rings
