That must be why mines £1100 because a Cinq will fold up more than most cars out there! But IMO this scheme is BS, others will probably disagree but I am opionionated lol :p

Its swings and roundabouts, being a tight git I wouldn't want to pay £25 to drive 5miles home after 11PM, and that box would know so I couldn't get away with it either.

as ive said it works for some.
eg with city transport i could avoid using my car after 11pm fairly easily
If that works for you great but I tried to get to work by bus once... I left the house at ~5:05 I got to work at ~6:50... this is a 40min ride by bike. And the bus service was 'good' back then I doubt I could get into work for 7am now, and that's an hour late :bang:

What about late night visits to various girls?

All that would have to stop as when you get kicked out at 4am etc you'd have to drive home or wait till 6am which may be inconvinient for the person who's bed you are invading and you may very well get called out for a random midnight booty call... what you gonna tell her?

"Can't do it girl it will cost me £18 in total and you're not worth it"

I'd rather just be able to go where ever, when ever without having to think twice.

If me and Bunny had had pay as you drive the other night when I had a migraine, the black box may well now be sitting in a puddle by the side of the road. If I'd have had to pay £20ish to go to the hospital I wouldn't have kept my cool..

that was my thinking, i'd just detatch it, attatch it to a 12v battery, then take it out for a spin every couple of days as not to arouse suspission.

i mean how are they gonna know?

and wouldnt that count as been driving without insurance?

but say you have to disconnect the battery for maintanence reasons, wont the box log that as been unplugged as it will loose power, so youll get pinalised for keeping your car working!

i would imagine it would log being disconnected, and therefore incur one hell of a penalty charge

AHA!! ;)(y)(y)

then again, it may well have its own internal battery pack, which is trickle charged off the main car battery, meaning its got enough power for a service with the main removed.....

dont think insurers are not going to cover all the angles and themselves.....

thinking about it, i would assume CCTV would play a part in this, if your box says your on your drive, and cctv on the motor way says your heading up to birmingham at 11pm, then they are probably gonna have a bitch

i think the government should enforce a curfew for all under 21s after 11pm, and give on the spot fines to anyone with a loud exhaust after 11pm, especially if they're wearing a baseball cap. i'm sick of hearing corsas with rage backboxes go past my house all night every night. dont they have jobs or even lives?! i cant see the fascination with driving around the block every 10 minutes. just go home and stroke your self or something. LOSERS

The only people who'd benefit from this is people who use their cars just to simply go to work and back. I use my car all the time, a lot of the time after 11. And yes I do work 5 days a week 9 - 5.30
