They can say what they want, Optimo 4S stops, steers and corners a lot better on my 500 TA than Goodyear Efficient Grip. I admit they feel a bit 'squishy' on the limit and I do crave a 'sharper' steering feel but actual grip is amazing wet or dry. Please note that I do not really advocate them all year round use. However if I had the choice of the EG's or 4S all year found, I'd rather be on the 4S's.
I wanted a less dedicated 'winter tyre' as we do not see snow for long but its cold and wet for a long time during winter. It's funny, Auto Express said the Optimo 4 S was the best 4 Season tyre and also crowned the Goodyear EG a winner too. Go figure : / I wonder if the tested size influences performance and causes variables.

I have Goodyear 4 Seasons on my Merc, havent tried them in very testing icy conditions though but with the bit of snow we did get a while back they appeared to perform better then standard tyres. Ride is very compliant and grip is excellent particularly in the wet. I have about 15k up on them so far and they're wearing well. If you're replacing your tyres and dont want to fork out for 2 sets then these or the Optimos are probably a sensible all-rounder.

TBH I have never really liked Hancock tires.
Since when have they won anything in motorsport?
Everyone else has ; Pirelli, Continental, Michelin, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Goodyear and others.

Tbh Pirelli don't really have the best motorsport history if you compare them to Michelin. Personally I wouldn't touch Pirelli's with a bargepole because of their uselessness when it comes to motorsport.

haha those F1 tires certainly seem dodgy, everyone is cruising around 3 seconds a lap slower than they can to save the tires!

I've got Pirelli P Zero Nero's on my GP and it sticks to the floor like sh*t to a blanket, good enough for me. :D

Dom

The P0s never suited the OH's Mito MJ in 215/45 R17. More suited for spirited driving in the dry - you couldn't trust them in the wet. They've been around since 2006 so they're getting a little long in the tooth now.

Not entirely fair...they could create tyres similar to the old Bridgestones but were contracted to create tyres that have to be managed carefully to make it a more tactical game. That and its not like they put F1 tyres on the road cars!

Ok so they do motorsport. But I don't see them winning le mans or f1 = )

Is probably not their aim or interest
Is not like that mclaren or audi gonna decide tomorow to change tyre supplier and be allowed to do so...there are rules and procedures involved in this high end competitions that are not even decided by the teams
Pirelli is in f1 and i have pirelli p6 on my car and they are rubbish! They are nearly finish and i cant wait to finish them so i can get a new set of different brand...even michael schumacher retired from f1 thanks to this fragile pirelli tyres! So winning competitions is a good marketing tool but does not mean high quality products, just means high price tag to finance supplies:p
