hey boys.... been thinkin about my alarm problem.

it turns out the alarm is set for a positive system, so the door lock / unlock will never work on a cento :(

however ive been thinking, it is all wired up apart from the parking lights, and remote central locking.

so wat i was thinkin was..... if i bought another alarm, could i just wire it up using the wires that are already in the car without any problems? or are different alarm wired up in different ways?

Would have a serious think about this.I bought a cobra bridge alarm and apparently all new alarm wiring colour is black... No room for mistakes!

can the alarm not be set to negative pulse instead?

you know.. could easily design summit to convert it using a relay. the load might bugger the alarm totally though.. hmmm

*ponders if a transistor type jobby would be better*

no one will touch it around here, they all say it needs to go to a clifford dealer, but ive been told there arent any left in hampshire / surrey cause clifford kept stitchin people up with the garuantees an general s**t service.

and the chances that an alarm place will just want to take it all out, charge me for that, and then stick a new one in properly are very very high and def somethin i cant be dealin with.

ok, if it werent twenty past 12 and i hadnt worked 24 of the past 48 hours i'd be able to draw the proper way of doing this. without looking at the alarm, or how much the locking sinks to ground when it pulses i can't really do much more. but you'll get the general idea.. and if you know anyone handy with a soldering iron - take the idea to them!

edit: just realised how not readable the text is on there. it says

"alarm pulses positive. that triggers the transisotr, which triggers the relay which connects the lock wire to ground. doors lock. sorted"

It summit along them lines anyway!

thatcham alarms tend to have same colour wiring for security but the wires are(should be) all marked.

Tech they shouldnt be marked if its been fittied properly the fitter should wire it all up and take the labels off when he is done.
