Hi

I have been told I need a new yaw rate sensor, and have been quoted £629.68 (£97.50 labour, £421.73 sensor, £5.50 consumables, £104.95 VAT). I have a Fiat Punto Evo 1.2, 2011 plate.

The sensor obviously is the main expense, does anyone know if this is something I could source myself? The garage is giving me the impression it can only come from the dealer. I'm not bothered about having a new one, as long as it works.

Thanks

This is a s/h one on eBay for £20, do the vehicle details match your car? I have never fitted one, I am only guessing that it may need "proxi alignment " with Fiat type diagnostics, perhaps others on Forum can advise.
eBay item number:257156534351

Item number of the part is 51904961, common to all ESP equipped Punto/EVO/Mito/500/Cubo/Fiorino of the same era. Get yourself one from ebay and replace it yourself. Literally 10 minute job, lift handbrake, pop off the center tunnel console (just lift it, no bolts) and there it is, just two 10mm nuts away...
