i know basics but when it comes to something like DVC's and understanding how powerful subs can be im a complete noob

quick update, quoted for a box to be made im told the lad knows his stuff when making these boxes, ive seen pics of a box he did and it looked proffesional. Im quoted a 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 30hz and ported. is this ok?
