Well I managed to return mine after taking it apart and modding the firmware to play 'backups'

.well ill stick it in some towels tonight and see if i can get the rrod and then go from there. Seems like a lot of hassle to be honest although i might kick off on the phone etc and try to worm a free copy of gta as i know someone gotforza 2 from them to say sorry for it taking so long or something along those lines
i doubt they will offer you that. they offered my mate kameo perfect dark and other lame games when he complained. and that was last year(them games wer released wiv the xbox)
maybe halo3 if your lucky

They give me a 1 month free xbox live subscription as there way of saying sorry. Funny thing is that it took a month to fix it so i already lost 1 month gold membership scruffy Bstards
force the red ring of death, get a damp towel wrap it up and just leave it on ever night till its bloody hot then bang the console on the floor it then makes the solders go crap if its still not doing it stick it straight in the freezer
failing that get a small flat screwdriver and take the front panel off by pulling with finers in the front usb slot and then peel one of the leds off the board using the driver

A friend of mine got RROD on his box, sent it off. Was gone 3weeks come back. Hardly played it due to getting a Nintendo Wii... Within a month... he gets RROD again. LOL.

i got RROD because of the overheating, sent it off and it was back within 2 weeks with 1 month gold membership.

Well, ive doing all i can today to get rrod.Rapped it up in 3 towels and placed it under a radiator. However, all i can get is 2 rings which i have read means its overheating. It is swithcing itself off on to somesort of standby, so how do you get the rrod?
need to be damp but not dripping wet

Thats really Funny Wrapping it up in a towel is actually suppose to fix the problem not cause it.
Just call them Up and tell them you got 3 red lights not 4. Wait till they pick it up and contact you and see the response Tell them u had it about 11 months But your not sure if you never registered it. Not your fault if you cant remember when you bought it.
They always ask you when you bought it I dont think they really check when it was actually bought or anything. BUT i may be wrong but what have you got to lose.

what do you mean by that.Should dampen it before i turn it on and rap it in towels? isnt that a bit dangerous, it will probably blow up :slayer:

Personnaly i wouldnt try it with a damp towell they may send it back and refuse to fix it. Just call up and tell them you got 3 red lights and its about 11 months old and see what happens.

but its two years old and xbox website knows that when i put my details in
mine was over a year old when i got RROD and they still accept it coz its a problem every1 has and its cheaper than recalling all the consoles

Ok so stop trying to fix it with the towels as that helps to fix it. Just call up you really have nothing to lose. Call for rrod 3 lights.

Ok this is goign no where. RROD is extended warranty for 3 years just call them then let us know what happens your nto going to cause rrod with a hardware failure.
