Xbox 360 finally broke - Help??

imo to be fit for purpose a console needs to be as robust as the megadrive was, so you can use it on deep pile carpet for 150 consecutive hours and spill your beer on it every weekend with no problem.

Well i just turned it back on to get the forza disk out and im now getting 4 red rings.Any idea what this means?

cheers

=============================

--==SECONDARY ERROR CODES==-

The specific type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code

* Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
* Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
* The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
* Release the eject button and press it again.
* The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
* Release the eject button and press it again.
* The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
* Release the eject button and press it again.
* The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
* Release the eject button and press it again.
* The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.

You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.

Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:

* All four lights flashing - 0
* One light flashing - 1
* Two Lights flashing - 2
* Three lights flashing - 3

Check out the following web site http://www.llamma.com/

It is a realy good site and has info on game consoles such PS2, PS3, PSP, XBOX, XBOX 360, Wii, and has info on errors, how to do a repair etc... (y)

The best way to solve all your Xbox360 problems; buy a PS3:ROFLMAO:. Looking forward to the full release of GranTurismo 5.:worship:

would do mate, but funds are a bit low at moment as i have a car arriving shortly and a deposit to pay for.

if you now have 4 red rings microsoft will accept it. if not then wrap it in towels turn it on leave it one for couple of hours and hope no1 reads this thread.

then ring em and they will arrange to pick it up(y)

But wont they only fix the red ring problem and not the problem that was causing my games to freeze? If so it seems pointless sending it

They dont fix them they give you a refurbished unit.

u need to look for 3 Red light's

4 Red lights is a hardware fault and can be anything
