General Write off ?

tbh, i could put it right for £100 or so

Unless you are a panel beater or in the accident repair business you are kidding yourself at repairing that for £100, even a 'mate in the business' will be making a loss at repairing that.

I also imagine a £100 pound repair will stand out in comparison to the repair you have been qouted

when did you buy the car? .

this where beau makes a stupid and illegal statement of what you should do.luckily ive edited it so as not to prejudice any negotiations you have with your insurer.im sure beau will pm you if he feels its worth it but will not post it

and find some expensive cinqs on auto trader and on dealers websites and print them off.

i think i got the jist of what he is saying :D

ill just agrue with the insurance company untill i annyoy them enough to just want to get rid of me =] and give me the price i want and let me keep the car.

and i could put that right with some filler and a little beating, having restored a mini ive got all the tools, all ill need is a £10 pot of filler, and a new boot lid ;)

Easiest way to get a decent payout from the insurance is to take out a hire car and charge them for that as well. Apparently (so I was told) by law the insurance company is obliged to pay for a hire car if you've lost the use of yours through the accident.

Believe me, with the cost of the hire mounting daily they will be very quick to settle payment with you (y)

its £200 - £300 even at Mates rates tbh. Unless your m8 likes working for peanuts.

alot of it could be done by urself aslong as the internal pillar aint twisted then u should be fine too work at fixing it spot of welding, pulling and filling should be fine then just paint costs i have fixed worse and its been fine
