Well this happened yesterday on the way to work, luckily its under warrenty and im in the motortrade so i got free recovery from a friend and then i did the work myself and fiat supplied me with brand new parts for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Thanks Fiat

The gearbox end came out of the cup n decided smash it's self to pieces lol, good job they let me do it myself because they wouldn't of done it if they saw how low it is lol I think I might join u with this longer drive shaft business lol

Yelp, same thing!..mine decided to smash a pulley aswell, and no warranty for me ..luckily a new spider is only £60. And do it! Will save this happening and more reliable, and means you can go seriously low lol.

He's probably referring to the point that Fiat would probably have refused the warranty claim if they'd seen what had been modified. I know things like this can happen but i bet it isn't just coincidence that it's been lowered.

Fair enough the guy did the work himself & the parts probably cost Fiat a fairly small sum, but personally i wish Fiat would check for modding/re-maps on all vehicles with drivetrain warranty claims & if anything's found, just void the warranty on the drivetrain.

Then they can use the money they've saved towards giving a better warranty to those of us that play by the rules.

Still surprised this is happening due to lows considering other people haven't had any problems being just as low or lower.

Maybe just unlucky I guess.

I say good on him, I would have done the same.
It is mostly to do with luck, I've felt at my driveshaft and when one bearing is at the bottom, it sticks out the cup about 6mm at the moment, some of this is down to the shortness of fiats drivehsafts though!.. Don't see this happening with many vags

No but with vags your driveshaft would be hitting the chassis so you would need it notched lol.

exactly right!.. And some vags only need a nodge lol, and what do U mean playing by the rules?.. Ur saying no one such modify, personalise there cars? Then the warranty U get by purchasing a car, not trying to take advantage of that?..still I think good on him

Fiat weren't obviously bothered about giving out the part free otherwise they would of made him have it done at there garage.

Looks like you lot need to get custom driveshafts up for your lows

Well tbh iv probably been ripped off by payin 7k for a yellow tjet then gettin 500 quid knocked off for Gavin no MOT or service on it the 2 years ago payin 6k for a n/a sporting, the fact iv saved them recovery and labour to look at it they were more than happy to HIV it me on the warranty, every man for him self these days, they've ripped me off for makin a lot on the car when I bout it so it works both ways and the fact I get parts off them for the garage I work at also helps

Haha il try, they don't deal in abarths and told me they had only got 2 Tjets coming in for service so I might say my turbo has gone, it's a vl36 can I have a new 1 and cheers mate I'm lovin your lows punto aswell wouldn't dare go that low, mines bad enough around Stoke with all the poo roads and road humps lol
