We are having an issue with the driver's radiator fan staying on. Fiat won't repair--too old. Took to independent garage and they tried to get wiring diagram but Fiat won't provide. So we desperately need workshop manual so that we can get this and other issues that come up, repaired. Tried all kinds of threads on forum and internet searches but nothing. We will be in GB in 2 weeks if anyone knows of a garage that works on older Fiat campers. Help please!

Hi. Just the fan..?

Is temp gauge working normally..?

Probably just a bad earth

Diagnostics are worth a try if its not obvious.

Sometimes the fan goes off as it should. Sometimes not. It ran once for 4 hours till the battery was flat. Sometimes it goes off and then comes back on. How do we tell if it is the temperature sensor? The garage wouldn't do anything with out wiring diagram which we can't seem to get. How do you get a workshop manual for this engine?

Hi, Forget looking for a workshop manual for general use. I have been looking for 8 years. I think fiat only produced a manual for garage use on a computer only fiat garages could read. Pretty crap really. As vehicles got older, they were removed from the list of garage repairable vehicles and, as there was no paper back up, the manual was lost. I would think a decent auto electrician should be able to find the fault or rewire the fan in some way. The information I've given is only what I've summised over years of blind alley searching so feel free to keep looking but it looks like time is short. I run a 1.9td 1996, by the way. All the Best, Ian

Any autoelectrician should be able to diagnose this in a few minutes its a basic two temperature switch driving two relays, if you've got power and onlyone fan is running then it can only be the switch, the relay or a short in the cable between the two.
