Technical Windscreen fog

When i have a few people in my car (when i say few i mean more than me) i cant see anyting out of my windscreen or my side windows...

Even if i put my blowers on the windscreen and on full whack i can only see in about the bottom 4 inches of the windscreen which means i have to drive like an old granny

any ideas on what i can do or how i can solve this problem?? and not spit on the windscreen as you do in swimming goggles as my mate suggested haha

slider bar under heater controls, make sure its set to bring in new air from out side the car not re use the damp air inside the car,

yep thats done....

its dangerous this stuff it only does i in winter and i dont know whats up with it

By opening the window just a little nick helps thats what i do...

if the heaters on as well then the only funny smell is the smelly heater smell haha

yeh but when i open the window i get cold lol

if the heater is smelly then you could have a slight leak in the matrix

which means what and how do i fix it? or check it?

its only smelly for the 1st minute or so

it could mean coolant is leaking out of the matrix and getting into the air, hence why it doesn't clear.


I've driven/been in and around a lot of cars and I can say the blower on mk1 punto's is one of the best around!!!! far better than the electrically controlled dual zone climate crp that comes on £34k audis!!!!!


try cleaning your screen with some good stuff, most good glass cleaners like autoglym and meguirs etc will help, 99p blue stuff that smells and looks like screen wash WILL NOT.

make sure lever is pushed to RIGHT side, otherwise you'll recycle damp smellly air and not get anywhere!!!

also if its cold out, use a bit of heat (Not much) to clear the screen, also if it suddenly mists up (like in dips and freezing fog etc) wind down windows an inch and increase heat.

very common problem on punto's,., gets on your nerves,
I dont have to worry about this as I never drive the punto really,,, I stick to my civic, turn on the air conditioning and BAM, it gone straight away,,.LOL

well i dont know when the next time i will be able to check it is because it happens at night with people in the car so im not sure when that will be...


so how would i check to see if its leaking and what not?

i tried that and then got pummeled by 3 sets of fists from the back seat lol

there all quite a bit bigger than me you see... arms the size of my head haha
