For the past week my PC has tried to update itself via the Automatic update tool.
It shows there are 2 critical and 2 custom updates needed (im running Win XP sp3).

Everytime they update, the installation fails.
I get the following errors:

Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 x86 (KB2468871)

Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 x86 (KB2533523)

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 x86
(KB2539636)

Anyone know how this can be fixed?
I have tried using the error codes on the Microsoft site, but cant seem to find the answers.

1. Open Command Prompt by Start -> Run and type "cmd"
2. On the Command Prompt, type "net stop wuauserv". This is done so that you will terminate the windows automatic update service to allow us to delete the cache files
3. Still on the Command Prompt, type "cd /d %windir%" or "cd\windows"
Type "rd /s SoftwareDistribution"
5. Thats it, the cache has been purged. Now we need to restart the windows automatic update service again. To do that, type "net start wuauserv"

I will need to try this, cheers for the info.
I emailled MS, recieved a quick response.
I was told to delere .net framework (all four of them).
hen to manually re-install them, run the update again, update, then it should be fixed.
All was going acording to plan until I ran the last update, now one of them in stuck on a perpetual loop. It updates, tell me its installed, then updates, tells me its installed, ad infinitum :bang:
