Have just had a pop-up come on screen saying....windows virtual memory too low!! what does this mean? do i need to do anything?

Wow this must be a old windows version is it ..maybes 98 or ME.
anyways a reboot will help, you can up the virtual memory settings,
or maybes dont have so much stuff running at the same time..

erm, running windows XP.

have only got internet explorer running atm but will give it a quick reboot in abit.

thanks :)

Pagefile is too low or could be one of those nasty pop ups which looks official but maks your pc download spyware

Hold down the windows key and press pause/break

Note your amount of ram

Clcick on the advanced tab of this window

Under performance click settings

Then click the advanced tab

Not the size of the paging file at the bottom of the window should be 1.5 times the amount of ram you had if not set it to that.

744 but what was it before?

The max is double the initial size but it shouldn't need to use as much as that.

when the box came up it said i have 496 mb of RAM and you said it needed to be 1.5 times that?
