Technical Will these Fit?

Just spotted a good deal on ebay on a wheel and tire!
Just want to know if it will fit a GP. The tyre size is the same...

With the PCD of an S40 being 4x114.3 and the GP being 4x100, it's a no go without adapters.

Another question could be why is an S40 new tyre a lot cheaper than a used GP tyre???

May be down to the fact that there may be a higher demand for GP spare wheels,...

I know a lot of forum members trying to get one, specially as a lot of the newer ones only seem to come with that "puncture repair C**P"

Have a look for spares from Corsas and Astras as they share the same PCD and centre bore.

You can typically get away with an offset of +/- 5 iirc of which they are i believe.

Agree, it's only a temporary measure. I just bought myself an Astra steel wheel and tyre from eBay last night. Will let you all know how it fits when i get it through.

It shouldnt do in theory. The diameter should still be pretty equal, theyre just a lot thinner. Self weight of wheel should hold it steady.

Yeah hopefully get posted next week so will fit it to make sure it fits then put it in the boot.

Well I thought I resurrect this instead of asking in a new thread!

My GP comes with 16" wheels. Can I use this space saver from an MK2 which is 14". And I know the seller states that it'll fit a Grande but just want to get a second opinion from you guys in the know

It won't. Mk2 used a 4x98 PCD (Grande is 4x100) and different center bore and offset. Also the rolling radius would be different.

Someone needs to inform that seller to stop posting false info as someone could buy that for a Grande and realise on a cold rainy night that their spare doesn't fit!!

The astra steel wheel fitted a treat and fits snugly in the boot. No more can of sh*te for me!

15" Astra wheel from 99 to 09. But for the 4-stud versions...

Not sure about the 16" though which is what I need!
