This might be a repost, but as a none Punto owner, I was just wondering why the Fiat Grande Punto isn't just called the Fiat Punto like all the other previous Punto's?
Just curious

Its also so they could still sell the mk2b model punto in other countries after the grande had been brought out
What does it say on the back of the Grande Punto?
Umm.. "Punto"
Exactly. The word "Grande" does not appear anywhere on the car.
Responding to what someone said a little higher up, Renault still sells the Clio 2as the Clio Campus. When I was at my Fiat garage a week or so ago, the "old" (Mk2 restyled) Punto in the showroom had a new badge that says Punto in larger letters and the word "Classic" is written underneath that in smaller letters.
For my money, the "Grande" Punto is the Punto 3. I realize that idea will be as popular as a pickpocket in a naturist camp, but there it is.
