Why are my brakes Squeaking?

I changed my disc and pads last week and now they are squeaking under light braking, add a bit more pressure and they are Silent. Anything I can do to solve this, or do I have to ride it out?

mine squeek like hell under light brakin .. but pfft! not much i can do about it!!

i had my pads changed about 3 months ago

if you break too hard on new pads and disc then you damage them as they need to be bedded in first! it takes a couple of days of CAREFUL driving like an old man but it stops the squeeking!

One week is not enough for them to bed in fully.

i never put that copper grease stuff on the 3 pins on the inner brake pad that fits into the brake piston, got told this makes a squeel but never bothered to do much about it.
going to though cause its starting to annoy!

Which muppet told you that?? The squeal is NOT caused by the retaining spring..
