hi, can anyone help me! my fiat bravo 1.4 tjet brakes seem to keep sticking, when i release the handbrake i then need to release the clutch forward in order to get the car to move?

Hill Holder

Hi,

If you're in first gear going up a hill or reverse (with your boot pointing up the hill). Then Hill holder will hold the brakes on until the clutch engages or a 3 second (ish) time elapses. You can tell it is working if you find the brake pedal extremely firm when you release and reapply.

I do know that the single pot brakes on this car aren't great for releasing fully esp after being stationary for a long period. Also squeeling brakes are common if the discs and pads are put in with the utmost attention spent on ensuring the carriers and pad rears aren't copper greased.

Just putting that out there. Hope you've solved this already.

Kind Regards,
