Not sure, but I use the 'wii friend' option - and then pick them up, and select a friend.
Have you got TRAVEL set to on?

We are getting there!
I have received a few miis, so then transfer them to the Parade from the Plaza! This means I only have my 4 that I use in games, but the parade builds up with friends' wii miis

Gotta disagree with that, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros Brawl are great fun.
ive been put off getting mario kart, i had a racing game when i first got the wii, but i was put off as the way of steering by tilting the remote i just cant grasp.
i may look into getting some more games after payday
On Mario Kart, you can hold like a steering wheel, or use a gamecube controller, or the virtual console controller.
Tbh, its fun with the Wii Wheel.
