Which wax?

After a decent wax, want to get it so I can give the car a good wash tomorrow so looks like its gonna have to be from halfords...

Any advice?

I tried the g3 resin super wax that I got from Halford last time I detailed the car and it's looked really good. Also if you haven't done it for a while it might be worth polishing it before giving it a wax as this will really help a lot. Best Polish imo is autoglym's super resin polish

Tbh ithink its all down to budget ..eg what you want to spend.

Good stuff is always expensive, ibuy test pots to start with to try it out,

dodo wax is looking good so far. good value for money anyway,

I use Autoglyms HD wax after a full detail. Then Meguiars spray wax on every maintainence wash in between.

its not bad stuff,

but how many times ayear do you apply this stuff,?

I use Simoniz carnauba wax on mine, its bloody hard work but the water just runs off the car afterwards.
The chap I bought the car off was a valeter and he said that carnauba isn't abrasive so you don't get all the swirls in the paint...he's right too, mine is like a mirror.

Spray wax every 2-3 weekends
Hd wax every couple of months

I just used turtle wax and it comes up lovely but next time i think i will try auto glym

I use Meguiars Tech Wax cos it was on offer when I bought it and it gives a great shine, esp on darker colours (my Carbon Grey met Mazda 3 used to look wet after I used it), not so much on my Campo grey A 500 but it's shinier than I thought it would be, seems to keep beading the water for a good long time too!.

we call natural wax a wax and synthetic waxes sealants, to most people that keeps it simple and less confusing

I use a guy literally down the road from me, you can find him on Facebook under RimRefurb or APE Detail & Car Care Products and his prices are excellent same with the products i used to be right into AutoGlym etc but not i dont even touch it, he can post direct to you or if your local he can deliver.

I use Armor All shield wax,its not a proper wax more of a chemical compound. Its doesnt give as good a shine as some waxes ive used but it lasts a long time and offers a lot of protection. Its also easy to put on as you dont need to swirl it on,just use long strokes and then buff off.

I find waxes are all down to personal budget, and what you as a user likes. Some waxes spread better than others, some have better water behaviour than others, etc etc it's like a never ending spiral. And once you start trying different waxes out you won't stop! (trust me i know).

Some of my personal favourites are; Britemax Vantage, Dodo Juice Purple Haze, Chemical Guys Connoissuer and Chemical Guys Pete's 53.
