Afternoon all! I have a dilemma that I thought I’d run past you guys…for your opinion please.

The following photos are of two replacement head units that say they’re for my car. I have seen a video of the Xtrons being fitted…and to me it looks identical the the cheaper set. Which one would YOU go for?! 🤔🫣

What you see isn’t always what you get
Certainly wehn I was looking for a panda one, there were, and still are, sets that look the same or very much alike, but vary from £75 to £250

I agree. So, which one would you go for?

I’ve still not made my mind up for the Panda, I guess I’m just too mistrustful of a deal ‘that looks too good to be true…etc’ and I’ve been burned before by UK sellers that aren’t.
I’d have hoped there was some more comments from the forum for those that have taken the leap

I cant say as ive not done it - However @typecastboy has a couple of videos on youtube that may be worth watching.

He has installed both stereos in various cars.(not together)

I suppose my first point/ is what are you willing to spend? and what is it you are trying to achieve if anything other than a better stereo?

My one experience was a work colleague ordered one of the cheaper ones....(but i do think it was 32g) and said it was extremely slow.

Can't say which one of the two I would choose, but I bought this one for my partner's daughter:

It works fine. Whichever one you buy, I'd recommend at least 4G of RAM. There are a few other things to look out for. Installation using the single DIN framework is really hard. There's a lot more cables and connectors to hide. I removed the frame. There's no way to completely locate the unit, but it fits and stays put perfectly OK without it. I'm sure they will all be like that. Finding the correct settings for the canbus units needs a bit of trial and error, but I finally found it. No flashing mileage! The other thing to be aware of is that there is no ACC (accessory) position for the ignition (at least on the 2008 1.2 we have).
This means that there's no way to use the unit unless the ignition is on. On our unit, the volume knob says 'Power', but that's a misnomer. It's really 'mute and turn off the display'. Apart from that, it's great. I fitted a reversing camera which is very useful. Car Play/Android Auto works a treat.

Thank you for your reply. I’m full of trepidation regarding the fitting of mine…the most I have done so far is to hardwire my dash cam!
