Hello fellow bravo buds,

Im having a full powerflow exhaust fitted this coming friday at A&A Tires in newport to my 97 HLX.

So to get an even better sound from it im gonna need an induction kit.

I have been quoated the following:

Jetex £60+vat +p+p
K&N £90inc vat +P+P

Quoates from swindon motorsport, The chap stated that both kits are identical and even get made in the same factory. ? sounds fishy?

I understand That K&N is going to be the most popular but i would like to hear from some induction kit owners please.

I also understand that the K&N fitting instructions show a smaller radiator on their car and the hose has trouble reaching or something?

Any advice would be great.

K+N 57i kit for sale (hardly used)

James or anybody, this may interest you - 57i kit for sale, only done 100 miles on car, complete and boxed with all original bits, clips, stickers etc - as new condition. Fits 1.6, 1.8 & 2.0 HGT (Part no 57-0160) How about £35 plus say £5 for postage anywhere in UK? Reason for sale - sounds superb but noise is a bit too overpowering for me - I've since replaced it with the K+N panel filter. If interested please reply direct by email.

Which one?

After having big supply problems with K&N, decided to go with the JR filter kit. What a waste of time. Took just as long to supply in the end and didn't fit. Now got the K&N filtercharger which I am very happy with. Not too intrusive but throaty if you open her up. Surely thats what its all about? Complements my Supersprint exhaust perfectly.

Go for the K&N!

Is the filtercharger different to the 57i ???

Is it a replacement for the standard element ?

K+N

I've bought K+N 57i kits and replacement elements and the word "Filtercharger" appears on the packaging of both. It just seems to be a K+N "trademark".
When buying a replacement element note that some filter boxes (eg Punto Sporting and GT, and probably Bravo 80 1.2) incorporate a thermostatic valve which controls the mix of air drawn from both the exhaust manifold (hot air) and front grille (cool air). I was wondering if it feasible to either remove or disable this valve so that only the cold (denser) air is drawn in. Anybody done this and noticed any benefits?

Regards,

Mark
