Looks bad for UK buyers; I would - if i were you - look for something in the UK - you can get a lot for that money even over here. I know the exchange rate at the moment is good but once you add VAT and import duties it mounts up.

If you do go witht he guy, make sure you contact HM customs and see the costs of importing it. Write down what they say, ask for the name of who you are speaking to just incase they charge you more.

GrpN Catback Exhaust system is here...just need to get the bleeder on now!!

I switched from Aiwa to JVC to Alpine... get the newest version of CDM 7874RB, it has 3 pre-outs, exellent sound, cd changer controls and a you can get the remote.

Got mine in Jan 2003 and the sound quality is still amazing. Buy Revs/Max Power look in the back for the best price on a head-unit you like then march into a local shop and ask them to match it.[8]

I know this might be a late reply but the best head unit you could get with that price range is the Pioneer DEH-6500R. I am slightly biased as I own one, but I have heard a lot of different head units for a similar price and this is by far the best. As well as having one of those cool moving graphic displays (wakeboarding/rally cars etc.) it has this unbelieveable EQ that lets you tweak just about any aspect of the sound. You dont just get bass/mid/treble, it goes further by splitting the bass/mid/treble frequencies and you can adjust each bit by bit to get the best sound, also has preset EQ settings. Also has this amazing function where if you have more powerful speakers at the back (like me, Infinity 6x9s, standard fronts) it can adjust volume levels to suit, or send more bass to the rear and more treble to the front using its high pass filter. Also you can adjust the sound environment or whatever Pioneer call it, so if it's just you in the car, it adjusts all volumes from each speaker so you get the same volume when it reaches your ear (confusing but you'll understand if you hear it). Max Power gave the mp3 player version a gold best buy rating (mp3 version is about 50-100 pounds more). I listen to all types of music on it and it all sounds great, you can adjust what kind of bass you want for different styles (long deep bass for hip hop/punchy bass and crisp treble for rock...etc)
I know this sounds like an advertisement, and it kind of is, but seriously, anyone with this head unit would agree. If you haven't bought a head unit yet, buy one, you wont regret it!!!!

Thanks for reading this long post, and no, I dont work for Pioneer, just giving advice.
