's' is a trim level - has nothing to do with what engine it has really... I don't actually know what that is which leads me to think its the 1.7td as i never seen one of them lol

i didnt say pic i posted is diesel, youtube clip engine is diesel which is different to my pic

I'll admit i didn't look hard at the pic - just know i ain't seen that engine before lol.

Its really hard to say with the airbox on it but looking at it now I lean towards the 1.4 12v engine as found in bravo/a - never seen or heard of one being in a punto but one would drop in pretty easy i would suspect.

again, it doesn't look quite right but the dizzy thing with ht leads on looks bang on the same, and the 3 bolt pattern for the throttle body is the same layout and position as the 1.4 12v, the leads go to where the plugs are located on the 1.4 12v - think thats enough proof

That looks like a tipo/ Tempra engine bay, def not a mk1 punto

the 3 bolts/studs holding airfilter to carb / throttle body is oldskool ,
like the 903 engines,


possible the 1100 tipo..??

I had 1.4 tipo's - the PAS pot and electrics all look tipo..but I don't recall that engine of filer box..

EDIT - it's a single coil..!! and has PAS so may well be a 1600cc

Its defo not a mk1 punto bay having spent more than a few seconds looking at it so if thats what its meant to be i would say its incorrect pic.

I don't recognise the ugly oil filler..so not a commonly fitted motor..airbox is odd looking too,

That airbox looks really familiar, to the point where I'm sure I've held one in my hands once but I can't remember what it's from
