Hi all,

I am a Scudo 1.9EL owner and because it's a bit flat am considering getting shot to buy either a TD Scudo or up-sizing to a Ducato?

Anybody got any thoughts on this?

Just a SWB would be fine - enough to get a full 8'x4' sheet of plywood in(y)

Thanks,

MC:cool:

What's your budget approximately?

If your looking at the 244 series (2002-2006), A Ducato 10 SWB should do you fine. The 2.0 JTD is similar to the engine in the Scudo if you are looking at the same years.

A MWB will just give you that little bit more, although most of these will have a higher roof.

for that sort of money would have thought you would be looking at a 230 series if you want a lowish mileage 2000/2002, 2.8idTD 8140.43 engines are bomb proof and amazingly economical for their size , only weakness is the external 5th gear so check that carefully before you buy and stick a magnet on the outside of the 5th gear cover if you do ...that way if you get a failure it is a cheap fix as the bits don't go into the main gearbox

Cheers Lebesset....

What sort of PMG return would you expect from the 2.8dTD?

Is the Renault Master the same van with a diffo badge?

the master is not the same vehicle , although you will find mechanical components in common as with all this kit eg a recent 2.2 fiat has a ford engine ; renault vans are built by general motors mostly
fiat build the fiat, citroen and peugeot in italy and , although there are some small differences , they are the same vehicle

on my 2.8 cross country when I cruise at 55/60 I get 30mpg! recently spent 2 weeks in the london traffic and got 23mpg to my surprise , not bad as it was rare to get into 4th gear even , and constantly fully loaded

the other thing is , not being a common rail engine and therefore having less to go wrong , it runs just fine on a 50% reclaimed chip oil mixture ...maybe 100% but I haven't tried that
