General Where's the Coupe forum gone now???

It looks to me like some of the website files have been deleted. Which is odder than the last problem, as some files are still there. At least last time when the whole server disappeared it was easily explicable.

I think we should all go on strike and refuse to post until it's proven stable again, i.e. migrated to hmallett! At least we could come on here and give him grief if it failed......

Everyone out, brothers.....

Easy, Jim! Next you'll be telling us you've been trampled and killed by the King's racehorse... :p

seems weird...

I think the whole system is a pile of [insert what you wish here] i thought lessons would have been learnt from last time and got everything on a decent server.

Loads of people depend on that forum and its a shame its so unstable. Maybe its time to move again.

Glad we have Ben who sorts all that stuff out, and what a great job he does too :)

Maybe its worth them speaking to ben and see if they can buy space off him? This forum is really stable and we dont have anything major going wrong.

Hope it gets sorted soon :)

FCCUK currently use Kayjey's servers ( or via his company StrayDesign). I'm not sure where they are located but it would appear to be having a rough time of it as none of his sites are working i.e. straydesign.com, fiatcoupe.net

It's just MySQL that is down... I hope they haven't lost the database again ;)

Not so sure with errors like "No such file or directory in /home/fccuk/public_html/forum/ubbt.inc.php on line 1434".
Given that there's free and open MySQL replication available, I'd hope that there's more than one copy of the database...

I am going to have to do some work if its not on soon. Don't think I could cope with that.

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11) in /home/fccuk/public_html/forum/mysql.inc.php on line 39

The script can't connect to the SQL server so everything after that is just php error debugging. No database = no site as all the template info, site configurations etc are in there.

Maybe it really is time to talk to H and Sammi about coming here permanently. Does this forum have the capacity to accommodate FCCUK? Could we have all the usual topics under the Coupe section here? Got to be worth thinking about now....

Don;t we just need to find a hosting company that isn't completely Mickey Mouse.

I mean, seriously, who the hell pays for hosting where, when things go TU, it takes 13 hours (and counting) to get customers back on-line again?

It's good to see that the FCCUK board are keeping everybody up dated with the situation:confused: (n)

Thanks to Sammiboo and HMallet we are still welcome here(y)

When was the last time you had problems S and H ?

Well exactly. If I'm not much mistaken, Hywel hosts this site?? So, surely we (FCCUK) can gain reliability, user involvement, and a degree of synchronicity in either moving in to this Forum, or discussing hosting with Hywel?

Unless we've recently paid for 12 months hosting up front......:bang:

(PS - Andrew - it's "Don't. ;) )

Bobbs and Scooby are currently travelling up to Scotland I believe, and you also have to remember they have lives outside of the forum too
