Fiat Brava '97 1.4, timing belt last replaced around 60k mark I think, now at 111k.

if it's been 3 - 4 years and 50 - 60 thousand miles...less if you do lots of short journeys. Tensioner too!

Preferably before it breaks!
Seriously, mine went full term (72,000 miles, as recomended by Fiat) before I had it done, although many on here recommend various periods shorter than that. Scaremongering? I couldn't possibly comment.
No doubt driving style is a factor to take into consideration.
