Technical Wheel Locating Pins on Hub

Hi all


I've recently bought a 100HP. My first Italian car and I rather like it!
I noticed when the wheel was removed to change a tyre, that the hub has a couple of locating pins/pegs.


I've never seen this before on a hub - does this mean it's not possible to fit non-OEM wheels as presumably the mounting face of a non-OEM wheel would foul against these pins?

These are there to keep the brake disc (or drum) located when the wheel is removed. They can be replaced with an M6 bolt or socket head if you need the space for different wheels.

If they are seized up use a mole grip or pipe pliers to get them off. They can even be left off entirely as long as you are careful when the wheel is removed.

I think I understand what you mean.
So they’re the equivalent of the screws that hold in the brake discs on most cars? Thus, an M6 bolt would just go in flush with the hub?
It would need to be flush as the mounting face of the wheel would sit against the hub.

If the wheels are flat/flush faced, you would need to remove the screws entirely or you might be able to use countersunk socket head M6 for a flush finish.
