jacky ok u have a point but r u saying u NEVER speed. or r u the oppersite to us. r u the 1 that does 40 on a motorway??? i wouldnt say i speed every where. infact say im a sencible driver. but sometimes u got to tank it for the excitement. i dont do it on town roads i aint crazy. i keep it for the mmotorway and frankly if the idiot walks on the motorway he must want to die anyway.

36.....a whole 36mph.......6 points on my licence later (2 sp30's)

i've had 120mph out of my 98s bravo hlx 1.8 without really trying, did get light steering, it was like i was floating

is that coz i only got standard hlx alloy's and i don't know speed rating of tyres but would it make a difference.

Do higher rated tyres make a difference to that "floating feeling" and do 17's make a difference

I own a fully standard 99 Bravo HGT ... Goes easily over 230km/h on straight ... At that speed feels like it's going to take of any moment ))

Ok Smee, i was waiting for that. The fastest I have ever driven was in Germany in Robs Bravo HGT ( sadly no longer with us ) I got it to 121mph on the autobahn, so im not saying I dont like going fast. The other day I was driving out of our estate when a small child dashed out between parked cars, luckly I was only going about 15mph, otherwise I wouldnt of stopped in time. I like to think of my self as an experienced and safe driver(im not saying how long I have been driving as it may give my age away ) and we cant be expected to be responsible for other peoples actions while we are driving. But again, I ask, how would you feel if you killed someone? I cant believe you wouldnt care. And no, I dont speed on my local roads and I very rarely drive on a motorway. I get really annoyed when everyone moans on here about being caught speeding by camaras...ask Rob. In my opinion, if you were breaking the law, tough. But at the end of the day, its up to you how fast you drive and if you think your safe doing it. I just hope you dont drive like some of the twats that live round here, because then I think you will end up learning the hard way. I live near an estate called Fiddlewood and its full of little Jenson Button wanabes!

Max was in my old 1.8hlx was supposidly 135mph going by the speedo, as for my new one- i have ha 120 4up but had more go, but didnt want to go any faster with 4ppl in the car!

This thread will soon turn into an 'inacurate speedos' thread!!! thank god i am holiday as of tonight!

see and i thought u had only just passed ur test . well i dont speed thorugh town not worth hitting some 1 like u said and norwich is a no go for me so ur child is safe. my point was the only person im luckly to hit (touch wood) is that man walking on the motorway which means he wants to die anyway others he wouldnt be there. my theory anyway so dont slate me. but i dont sped thatmuch due to not know the roads and how bad they r my car doesnt like bouncing all other the place.

Have to agree with Jackie here. I've been lucky enough to avoid both speeding fines and accidents for the best part of 8 years but have experience of both. I crashed into the back of a car on the A1 after the guy in front brake tested me in the wet for reasons I still don't understand. All my passengers suffered whip-lash to varying degrees and we were doing 20 mph on impact in moving traffic.
I admit to being a hypocrite as I have had (speedo) 126 mph out of my Bravo - then i realised how fecking dangerous it was and that other than in a straight line - i had no control over the car at all. Don't be fooled into thinking you are different.

Track day's are the way forward if you are dead set on risking your own and your cars welfare. Lets get one organised so we can watch Smee thrape it upto 4k rpm straight into the gravel (LoL - sorry Smee).

FAO Si Walsall have you got any mods or is that a standard 1.2?Im from walsall also and know the m6 well even on the steepest part id struggle 110 thats with no mods.

ill do a track day. my insurance company cover it. the big 4k rpm wat more u want. sometimes if im really dareing i go to 4500 prm but thats very rarely.

Glad to hear you are a carefull driver Smee, and I guess if someone is walking on the motor way, then they are asking for trouble. Its just that one of my friends was the first on the scene of a nasty crash involving 3 youngsters, one of whom he knew. He gave first aid as best he could, 2 of them died, one at the scene. He said it was obvious that they were speeding. It was a straight road and they were wrapped round a tree and there wasnt much left of the car. The police think they must of swerved to avoid maybe an animal and lost control. Just seems such a waste to me.

So hay....lets be carful out there
