hello mate i got 120 out of mine on a downhill part of the m6 with the wind behind me which for a 1.2 isnt bad but did take a long time to reach it though
These threads always get the people saying about speedo inaccuracy and all that but why even bother mentioning it??
All cars suffer from the same problem so a 1.6 vtr that says its going 130 will be by the side of me doing the same
Someone asked me this the other day, and I must admit, it had never occurred to me to try. So I'll endeavour to find out what my HGT can do, and post the result with with my monter page end next week.
(..monster!?..ahh, you will see!!)
I've topped out at a Whopping 42mph in my 1.2 BTS, must admit I could probably have made 45, maybe 50 but I could hardly maintain control at this impressive speed, I'll try and get photographic proof uploaded for all you 'doubters' on the forum, never again though am still shaking with excitement like RR at the Mr Gay UK Finale!
Sorry, hate to be the sensible one here but have you lot stopped to consider that you would hurt more then your car if you hit something/someone at that speed? I bet you wouldnt be coming on here the next day to boast at how fast your car can go.
Yeah good point Jackie thas why I rarely go above 80-85. However recently having only had my 1.8 a couple of weeks I had a first real drive on motorway.
This golf was doing the usual aggressive ****** driving behind me (Think if you buy a golf or bmw for that matter, there is a law somewhere saying you must take lessons on driving like an aggressive tw*t).
Anyway short of it was I pulled away from him (was no1 infront - pretty safe) and off, glanced down and was doin 100 :S - engine still had a hell of a lot to give and all!
Unheard of in my old punto at 100 it would start shaking to bits, ahh god I love my bravo!
