Before Christmas I bought another Punto Cabrio (in Pink lol) as it had a brand new roof on it. It was cheaper to buy the car than a new roof. I have since changed them over.
The problem that it had when I bought it is that it keeps cutting out after a while when it gets warm. I presume this is the crank sensor that needs replacing. Although, it did drive 37 miles home at around 40mph without cutting out once. I dont know whether it would be worth fixing it. My local garage who specialises in fiats has offered me £100 for the whole car. He wants the ecu and gearbox out of it. The ecu in it has been decoded i believe as the keys have no transponders in them - they are just metal type that you get in timpson, and it has an after market immobiliser. Am i right in thinking that an ECU that has been decoded and a gearbox is worth more than what i am being offered? Personally I wouldnt mind if someone offered me some more money and took the whole thing away lol. It has been lowered and has a loud back box - so if anyone is interested sent a message my way lol. Would it be worth fixing and MOTing to sell, or just sell it as it is?

if u can break it then it would be worth more than just the whole car in 1 bit tbh
esp at the price offered, but i wud possibly find how much it is to fix first and then judge

I would break it, but it is currently parked outside my grandad's house and he wants it gone by the end of the month. Bit of a pain really.

hmm..now u've got me thinking lol at a non thinking time lol...i would probably fix and sell ..cos thats all the fiat specialists are probably goin to do is break it tbh..obviously if it is above 100 quid dont bother just hand it to the fiat specialists lol...but i dont know the value if they are runnin or anything...so find that out 1st and go from there...sorry im not much help on this issue...
