Hi there, I've just bought a Fiat Punto 1.9 TDi active. I used to own a normal 1.9 TDi and I was just wondering what the difference is between the two (i.e. what does the 'active' mean?!)

I've checked a bunch of websites but can't figure it out!

Thanks,

Angus

I believe the "active" part denotes the entry level car .....so active is the base then you get the active sport which just adds a few goodies to spice it up like alloys and spoilers then its the dynamic which is middle of the range and probably means you get things like a better stereo bigger wheels better interior etc etc and in the case of my old punto you used to get the "eleganza" which was top of the range

Before they used actual names to denote the spec of the car they used to use letters such as LX, ELX, or HLX then you had the "sporting" and HGT for the sports versions :)

i believe fiat started using 'active' on the punto from about 2003 which i believe means they all have electric windows and central locking.

then the dynamic had alloys and electric mirrors pre mk2b and Aircon on the Mk2b cars

elaganza was the top of the range with all the bells and whistles.

they did a seperate line of 'sport models' which where the 'active sport' 'sporting' and 'HGT' which had different bumpers alloys foglights as standard

Hi guys, thanks for all the feedback. It's a 2002 model and has electric windows but not much else in the way of luxury!
